Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hardcourt

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden title for nearly 30 months with success over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

The Russian, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, winning just one match at the big events and experiencing a difficult moment at the American major.

The player's unpredictability on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - caused him falling of the world's top 10 and finally separating with long-time mentor Gilles Cervara.

Currently working with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested 7-5 4-6 6-3 victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks Medvedev's first trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and maiden on a hard court since that period of the previous year.

The win also means Medvedev has won 21 victories at 21 distinct tournaments.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my children at once, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 the champion.

"This victory is in dedication of my younger daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six championship matches, featuring in the German tournament previously this season.

His retrieving play style and frequent emotional displays on court had prompted some to doubt if his capacity to play at the highest level was finished.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, attempting to come to the net and perform assertively, supported by an enhanced service.

The champion fought back from a deficit in the opening set against the difficult opponent, taking four of the final five games to go ahead.

Both players swapped breaks in the following set before the challenger, attempting for his first professional victory, took control to force a third set.

The opponent defended four initial break points in a close final set before the Russian broke to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, the winner earned the win with a shot at the net, with Moutet unable to handle a volley after a lengthy match.
